Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy is an established English born actor, producer and former model.

He has starred in many films and television series, including the very successful drama, Peaky Blinders.

At the time of writing, Tom Hardy’s net worth is estimated to be $45 million.

This figure may increase somewhat in the near future, as he is widely tipped to replace Daniel Craig as the new James Bond 007.

So strong is the rumour that he is to be the next Bond, bookmakers have stopped taking bets on the outcome.

Early Life

Edward Thomas Hardy was born on September 15, 1977, in Hammersmith, London. He is an only child and has Irish descent from his mother’s side.

He attended Reed’s School, an independent secondary boarding school for boys and Duff Miller Sixth Form College. He later studied at Richmond Drama School and the Drama Centre London.

Career

Tom Hardy’s first taste of the limelight was when he won The Big Breakfast‘s Find Me a Supermodel competition at the age of 21 in 1988, earning him a brief modelling contract.

His first big-screen appearance was in the film Black Hawk Down, directed by Ridley Scott.

Tom Hardy has since appeared in notable films such as Star Trek: Nemesis, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Dark Knight and starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in both Inception and The Revenant.

More recently Hardy has starred in the WW2 movie Dunkirk and the gritty drama series Peaky Blinders.

Hardy also had a brief career as a rapper and hip hop producer with his friend Edward Tracy with whom he recorded the track Falling On Your Arse in 1999, this was eventually released in 2018.

  • 2011 Won Best Actor in the film Legend, again at the British Independent Film Awards

Personal Life

Tom Hardy was married to producer Sarah Ward from 1999 until they divorced in 2004.

In 2014 he married actress Charlotte Riley and they have two children together.

Tom also has a son from a previous relationship in 2008

Tom Hardy has freely admitted that when he was in his 20’s, he was out of control on drink and drugs, so much so, that checked himself into rehab, this, fortunately, allowed him to turn his life around and go on the be the superstar that he now is.

Tom is a practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and was awarded his blue belt in December 2020.

Charity Work

In 2010, Hardy became an ambassador for the Prince’s Trust. He is also a patron of Bowel Cancer UK.

In 2018 Tom became the lead ambassador for the “Reorg Brazilian Jiu Jitsu foundation” which was launched in association with The Royal Marines Charity, this is a platform set up to help combat veterans recover from their physical and mental injuries.
