Early Life
Robbins was born Anthony J. Mahavoricon on 29th February 1960, in North Hollywood, California.
He is the firstborn of four children. His parents divorced when he was seven years old, and his mother later remarried several times, including to a former semi-professional baseball player called Jim Robbins. When Tony was twelve years old, Jim adopted him and Tony took his surname (Robbins).
His life at home was full of chaos and abuse, so at the age of 17, he decided not to attend college and he left home never to return again.

Robbins initially got a job as a janitor so that he could support himself. Later on, he was able to get a job promoting seminars for the American entrepreneur, author and motivational speaker Jim Rohn.
In the early 1980’s, Robbins became a business partner with John Grinder. John Grinder was the founder of a program called Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP).
As a team, they launched seminars that taught self-help and Neurolinguistic Programming.
Tony later chose to teach Neuro-Associating Conditioning and later ventured into co-founding the Robbins-Madanes Centre for Intervention. Tony Robbins also owns Team Liquid.
In 2014, Robbins was part of an investors syndicate to acquire rights to launch a Major League Soccer franchise in Los Angeles, California, referred to as the Los Angeles Football Club.
